This is a tented camp which the owners are trying to
sell as luxury. We do feel that the camp is intimate
and is a wonderful place to stay, but it does not fall
into the luxury class. We noted a couple of problems
like holes in some of the tents but were prepared to
overlook this purely because of the romance of the
location and superb setting of the camp. The camp is
positioned on a hill overlooking the Grumeti River. At
night you can hear the hippos in the pools below
bellowing their calls and during the day many animals
gather in the confounds of the camp to graze. It is
quite spectacular.
One of the great things about the camp is the
evenings at the campfire. The managers certainly do
their best to make sure that guests have a great bush
experience. When you depart to your tent at night you
are escorted by an askari (Maasai guard) which adds to
the bush experience.
