This lodge is absolutely amazing, and by far the best
accommodation in Tanzania. Selected by Conde Naste as
one of the top 23 new hotels of the world in 1997, is
even more proof of it's superiority. Along with this
recognition, the lodge is a member of Small Luxury
Hotels of the World.
Crater Lodge is well positioned on the rim of the
Ngorongoro Crater and provides spectacular views of
the wildlife below. To compliment this spectacular
view, each room has it's own butler who will stoke
your fireplace, draw your bath and scatter rose petals
in the water for you.
The lodge has been designed to blend in with the
surroundings with a Maasai look and feel. Large round
chimneys can be seen as you approach the lodge from
the main road and make the hotel look even more
impressive. The living areas are spectacular with
romantic fireplaces, decks overlooking the crater
below and leather high-backed chairs for you to sit
and relax.
