We highly recommend Arusha Coffee
Lodge as the best place to stay before or after your
Safari in the Northern Parks. Situated on the 2100
acre Burka Coffee estate on the west side of Arusha,
the Lodge is only 2km from Arusha Airport which is great if you need to catch an early morning
flight. It is perfectly nestled in a Coffee Plantation
and bestows magnificent views of Mount Meru and the
coffee plantations surrounding it. The location is
very tranquil and a perfect beginning to your safari,
or private business trip if you wish.
Arusha started off as a small
German military garrison in 1900 and has quietly
matured and developed into a sprawling and lively
regional centre. We recommend that you take some time
out to explore the town - a good place to start is at
the central clock tower in the heart of downtown
Arusha. You will find many craft shops with locally
made batiks, Maasai bead necklaces, meerschaum pipes
and other African curios on offer. Remember to use
your haggling skills with the street vendors to get
yourself good bargains – the shops by contrast are
not really open to bargaining.

Mount Meru is Africa's fourth highest mountain peaking at 15,000 feet. It
has an extremely diverse habitat ranging from
grassland through mountain forest to heath and alpine
desert as well as both soda and fresh water
lakes.
